The syllabus

What we teach in two months

Four blocks, taught live Mon–Sat and drilled to a measurable standard. No syllabus padding — every session maps to a task type you will actually meet on the dMAT.

01

Maths foundations and speed

Linear equations, substitution, rearrangement and fast mental arithmetic — drilled until 20 systems in 25 minutes feels routine.

20 systemsin 25 minutes
02

Pattern and figure logic

Movement, rotation, colour-cycle and x+1 progression rules from the official figure-sequence task type, practised at all three difficulty levels.

03

Grid deduction

Row-column elimination technique for Latin squares, so you fill hidden cells in your head instead of guessing.

German Master's Degree

It IS part of the APS process.

It does NOT replace the APS certificate.

It is NOT a university entrance exam.

Why it exists

The four pillars driving the requirement

Together they uphold the system integrity of German admissions.

System Integrity
01

Fair Evaluation

Assesses true academic aptitude rather than memorized knowledge.

02

Standardization

Creates a uniform baseline for international applicants.

03

Comparability

Gives German universities a reliable metric to compare diverse candidates.

04

Verification

Strengthens the existing APS India document verification framework.

Does it apply to you?

The holistic German admissions equation

A strong dMAT score matters — but it is one factor among several. Compliance is mandatory for targeted fields; a high score alone does not guarantee admission.

Bachelor's GPA+APS Verification+dMAT Score+IELTS / TOEFL+SOP / CV / LORs=University Admission

Bottom line: For Indian students applying to targeted Master's programs for Summer 2027 onward, the dMAT is a mandatory, €150 computer-based aptitude assessment to be completed before submitting your APS verification.

Straight answers

dMAT coaching: frequently asked questions

The questions we get asked most, answered from the official g.a.s.t. roadmap. Still unsure about your case? The first coaching session covers it.

What is the dMAT exam?

The dMAT (Digital Master Assessment Test) is a computer-based aptitude test by g.a.s.t., the German body behind TestDaF and TestAS. It is evaluated centrally at the TestDaF Institute in Bochum and is becoming part of the APS India verification process for selected Master's applicants to Germany. Your dMAT result is reflected on your APS certificate.

Who has to take the dMAT?

Indian students applying to German Master's programmes for Summer Semester 2027 or later, if their bachelor's degree falls in Engineering, Commerce / Accounting / Finance / Economics, or Business / Management. Applicants who completed APS registration or shipped complete APS documents before 29 June 2026, already hold an APS certificate, or come through official exchange and double-degree programmes are exempt.

Do GRE or GMAT scores exempt me from the dMAT?

No. APS India has not announced any GRE or GMAT substitution. The only published exemptions relate to APS applications completed before 29 June 2026, existing APS certificates, and official exchange or partnership programmes.

What is the dMAT exam pattern?

Two parts of 90 minutes each with a 30-minute break, all in English. The Core Module has three subtests: Figure Sequences (20 tasks, 25 minutes), Mathematical Equations (20 systems, 25 minutes) and Latin Squares (16 tasks, 20 minutes). The Subject Module presents a typical problem from your field group followed by single-choice questions. No notes or rough paper are allowed anywhere in the exam.

What is the dMAT exam fee?

€150, paid online during registration on the official dMAT portal. The fee covers the full test — both the Core Academic and Subject modules — and your official dMAT certificate.

Where can I take the dMAT in India?

At an authorised test centre booked during registration — it cannot be taken from home. Centres are listed across Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune and Mananthavady, though not every venue is offering appointments yet. See the test centre list above for addresses and current status.

How is the dMAT scored, and is there negative marking?

Your Core Score and Subject Score combine into a total on a roughly 0–200 scale with a mean near 100. No negative marking has been announced, so the official guidance is to never leave a blank — attempt every question, and guess when you must. The certificate has lifetime validity and does not expire once issued.

When is the dMAT held?

For the inaugural 2026 cycle, registration opens 29 June 2026 and closes 15 September 2026, the exam is on 26 September 2026, and results are available from 12 October 2026. Dates can change — always confirm on the official portal before planning around them.

How should I prepare for the dMAT?

There is no syllabus to memorise — the dMAT measures reasoning, so preparation means drilling the task types under time and without notes. Our two-month live coaching covers the four blocks that matter, and the full-length test series lets you rehearse the real computer-based format with instant scoring.

What does EEC dMAT coaching cost?

The two-month intensive course is ₹15,000 after a 50% launch discount on the listed fee of ₹30,000. If you want more practice after the two months, you can extend at ₹5,000 per month.

What are the dMAT class timings at EEC?

One hour of live teaching daily, 12 to 1 PM IST, on Zoom — you can join from any city in India. The batch covers the full maths and aptitude-reasoning syllabus mapped to the official g.a.s.t. task types, and notes are emailed after every class.

Practise with full-length test series built around the Core Academic and Subject modules — timed, computer-based, and scored just like the real exam.
